Aberdeen Angus cattle, also known as Lowline Aberdeen, are a breed developed from an Angus herd in Wales, where researchers tried to figure out how growth rate affected profitability. The Lowline group proved to be far more efficient at a smaller frame size.
This efficiency explains why these cattle are growing in popularity. These cattle are also well known for their fertility, docility, and incredible mothering ability, all qualities that benefit the Alaskan cattleman.
Speckle Parks are a modern breed developed in Canada from British Whites, Aberdeen Angus and shorthorns. They do well in most climates and mature weight is generally 1100lbs. Like the Lowline Aberdeen Angus, the Speckle park is highly fertile, very maternal and raise vigorous calves.
